Baby #2 Pregnancy Tracking: 40 wks

March 22, 2012 By Erika Zane

22 Mar

I’m officially 40 weeks as of yesterday!  Woo hoo!  Well, at least by my calculations.  The due date in my chart with my midwives is 3/24, so I still have some more time.  Our dates are different simply because the wheel they use is slightly different than if you use a phone app or online calculator.

I’m really not that excited about the fact that I’m 40 weeks and still no signs of impending labor, but that’s ok.  I’ll get over it 🙂  Thanks to the baby, I had the opportunity to finish my Pregnancy Tracking series AND spend some quality time with Little Man while doing so.

Here’s my last belly photo!  I decided to expose my belly this time because LM thought that was more fun.  That and he was more willing to participate in the self-photo taking then.  He’s clearly happy to pose for a camera with no one behind it.  If only we could get him to be such a ham with photographers!

I do have stretch marks and I edited them out.  Sorry.  I have a scar from childhood (chicken pox or something) on my stomach that makes them look worse than they are.  I guess that’s a little vain, huh?  I’ll work on that.

Thank you so much for all the well wishes, prayers and thoughts.  It means more than you could know.  I’ll keep you all posted!

You look amazing! If I didn’t see the pregnant belly, I would never guess you were prego, let alone 40 weeks!

Hoping the little one makes an appearance soon. (Maybe on my birthday? Ha.)

My pant legs would disagree with you, but thank you! 🙂

It would be awesome for you two to share a birthday, but I’m not sure I want to wait that long! 😉 Not that it’s up to me…

I’m so excited for your next baby. Is he a boy or a girl? Good luck on your pregnancy.

About me

Hello and welcome.  It’s been a while.  For Lent this year I decided to fast from the thing that took too much of my attention from what is truly important: Social Media.  Though there are countless amazing benefits to Social Media, after about a month offline so far, there are seemingly just as many negatives.  I never realized how much of my brain had been hijacked by it.  I’ve had so many revelations about how much easier it is to move forward when I’m not constantly reminded of the past.  But I still want to record my family as they grow at this ridiculous speed and, I’m realizing, so many of our family’s memories are here.  Those along with so many of the struggles and stages we’ve worked through.  Maybe in the midst of COVID19 isolation and my kids around me so often, I’m brought back to a time when they were too young for school and with me so often.  Writing here during that time helped make up for the limited adult conversation in my days and the overwhelm provided by my… little treasures 😉 My husband, fur babies, three fiesty kids, and I hereby extend an invitation to visit this little sneak peak into our life. We’re super flawed and broken and there aren’t too many dull moments around here.  And I promise it’s not always as magical as some of my golden hour, sun-soaked images would suggest.  There’s usually too much coffee in my system and we welcome all the prayers.  Come on over if you want to process with me.
