I’m kind of old fashioned

So, here I am at 9pm and, rather than missing a day, I’m resorting to prompts.

This is where I blog, edit, and design:

I can multitask doing just about anything.  I can design, cook, photograph, and talk on the phone while watching TV.

And I can even do them simultaneously…. Umm wait, no.  I don’t even want to know what that would look like.

I mean, obviously, something always gives when I multitask, but I can usually accomplish my tasks and block out distractions (ie TV).  Not when it comes to reading or writing, though.

It doesn’t matter what’s on TV, unless maybe we’re talking about sports.  I do like sports, but they don’t usually require my complete undivided attention to understand what’s going on.

So, I need a desk, and here it is.  It’s in the TV room, so sometimes I still fail at blocking out distractions, but this set up helps me more than sitting on the couch.

What about you?  Are you a good multitasker?  Do you need a desk or an office?

I definitenly need an office. We have one but it is so cluttered that I just really don’t like working in there. I would love to redecorate it! I’m not bad a multi-tasking as long as the noise is mine. If my husband puts something on that I can’t stand I find it impossible to ignore for some reason.

That’s why my “office” is in the main living area, I don’t like feeling cooped up in a separate room. Our’s was always cluttered too when we had one and it felt like wasted space, so now it’s the baby’s room rather than having the boys share (3 bedrooms)

That’s funny about the noise! I’m actually funny about my husband eating when I’m trying to work. Something about hearing someone chew really annoys me when I’m trying to focus. I know it’s weird 🙂

About me

Hello and welcome.  It’s been a while.  For Lent this year I decided to fast from the thing that took too much of my attention from what is truly important: Social Media.  Though there are countless amazing benefits to Social Media, after about a month offline so far, there are seemingly just as many negatives.  I never realized how much of my brain had been hijacked by it.  I’ve had so many revelations about how much easier it is to move forward when I’m not constantly reminded of the past.  But I still want to record my family as they grow at this ridiculous speed and, I’m realizing, so many of our family’s memories are here.  Those along with so many of the struggles and stages we’ve worked through.  Maybe in the midst of COVID19 isolation and my kids around me so often, I’m brought back to a time when they were too young for school and with me so often.  Writing here during that time helped make up for the limited adult conversation in my days and the overwhelm provided by my… little treasures 😉 My husband, fur babies, three fiesty kids, and I hereby extend an invitation to visit this little sneak peak into our life. We’re super flawed and broken and there aren’t too many dull moments around here.  And I promise it’s not always as magical as some of my golden hour, sun-soaked images would suggest.  There’s usually too much coffee in my system and we welcome all the prayers.  Come on over if you want to process with me.
