Holiday Cards And A Unique Option

December 23, 2013 By Erika Zane

Isn’t this a great idea??

Considering how late I got my cards out this year, I should have just waited and ordered New Years cards, like the one pictured above.  Especially after the whirlwind year we’ve had.  There’s not much chance of anyone getting our card before Christmas since I kind of just sent them…

Ok, so really, it will be a miracle if any presents arrive on time either!

I have the sneaking suspicion I’m not alone in that this year.  After all, only a few weeks between holidays, didn’t give us much time!

I just discovered the site Minted.com a few weeks ago.  The name sounded familiar and I kept meaning to check it out.  What did I learn?  I was really limited in my thinking when it came to ordering personalized cards.  In the past, only two sites came to mind around the holidays.  Especially with two young kids, pretty much every card and gift I buy has a picture of them on it.

Come on, you know everyone wants to see pictures of my kids as often as possible!

If you haven’t gotten your cards out yet this year, there’s still time to order for the New Year.  The selection is amazing!

If you’re like me, you want to find something original that doesn’t look identical to everyone else’s card.  I mean, isn’t that kind of the point?  I was so impressed with Minted’s selection of not only cards, but everything.  They carry many unique personalized gifts by awesome independent designers.

I already know this will be my first stop with some of the birthdays fast approaching in the new year.

As with anything online, site design is important.  Who cares how great their selection is if you can’t find anything easily?  That’s not the case with Minted.  As someone who designs sites, I’m frequently frustrated with how hard it is to find what I want, but I found their site both aesthetically pleasing and easy to navigate.

Minted, you have widened my horizons.  Thank you!

About me

Hello and welcome.  It’s been a while.  For Lent this year I decided to fast from the thing that took too much of my attention from what is truly important: Social Media.  Though there are countless amazing benefits to Social Media, after about a month offline so far, there are seemingly just as many negatives.  I never realized how much of my brain had been hijacked by it.  I’ve had so many revelations about how much easier it is to move forward when I’m not constantly reminded of the past.  But I still want to record my family as they grow at this ridiculous speed and, I’m realizing, so many of our family’s memories are here.  Those along with so many of the struggles and stages we’ve worked through.  Maybe in the midst of COVID19 isolation and my kids around me so often, I’m brought back to a time when they were too young for school and with me so often.  Writing here during that time helped make up for the limited adult conversation in my days and the overwhelm provided by my… little treasures 😉 My husband, fur babies, three fiesty kids, and I hereby extend an invitation to visit this little sneak peak into our life. We’re super flawed and broken and there aren’t too many dull moments around here.  And I promise it’s not always as magical as some of my golden hour, sun-soaked images would suggest.  There’s usually too much coffee in my system and we welcome all the prayers.  Come on over if you want to process with me.
