Almost a Wordless Wednesday: News!

May 21, 2014 By Erika Zane

21 May

Wow, it’s been a month since my last post!  I’m not sure how that happened… Ok, well maybe I am.

In short: life’s been almost unmanageably crazy around here.  I’ve never been great at following schedules or organizing my days.  I’m more of a have-a-list-at-the-back-of-my-head-and-see-how-the-day-goes kind of woman.  I find my lists and plans almost never work out and I have a hard time letting go.  I’m better if I just expect to be surprised.

I think I’ve said this before.

Strangely enough, I still consider myself a planner!  I know, I’m crazy.  But really, I’m a planner in that I always have a general direction in which I’m trying to go with life.  I have dreams and very broad goals.  But, that’s not what I sat down to write about…

I sat down to write about what’s been going on with this blogger who barely feels like a blogger lately.

I have news!  For some reason I’ve felt the need to keep this news to myself for much longer than I thought I would and this news has impacted my life more than I expected.  I’m not sure why that’s a surprise.

Ok, I’ll stop being all cryptic and share the news:

A third little one will join our family in November!  Boy or girl?  We’ll find out on Friday!

So that’s why I’ve been so quiet online.  It’s hard to share or write when most of what I’m thinking and feeling deals in one way or another with this pregnancy.  I’ve had good days and bad days and very little extra energy to keep up with these two little stinkers.

Seriously.  They’re bringing the chaos to a new level these days!  Yay for keeping things interesting!

So, now I hope I’ll be able to write a little more freely.  You can expect a post by early next week on the gender of our new little berry!  Happy Wednesday!

Congratulations! Colton was an unexpected blessing in my life. Three sounds scary, but I assure you, it isn't! I haven't blogged in a year though. Now that Colton is almost 2, I've been thinking of spending less time updating my fb statuses and more time getting back to my blog 🙂

Me neither! Tomorrow can’t come fast enough! I think I might be destined for all boys, but we’ll see 🙂

Thanks Teresa! Yeah, it was only a little unexpected. We knew it was a possibility, but I was still pretty shocked when I got the positive test! It does make me nervous, but I'm excited too 🙂

About me

Hello and welcome.  It’s been a while.  For Lent this year I decided to fast from the thing that took too much of my attention from what is truly important: Social Media.  Though there are countless amazing benefits to Social Media, after about a month offline so far, there are seemingly just as many negatives.  I never realized how much of my brain had been hijacked by it.  I’ve had so many revelations about how much easier it is to move forward when I’m not constantly reminded of the past.  But I still want to record my family as they grow at this ridiculous speed and, I’m realizing, so many of our family’s memories are here.  Those along with so many of the struggles and stages we’ve worked through.  Maybe in the midst of COVID19 isolation and my kids around me so often, I’m brought back to a time when they were too young for school and with me so often.  Writing here during that time helped make up for the limited adult conversation in my days and the overwhelm provided by my… little treasures 😉 My husband, fur babies, three fiesty kids, and I hereby extend an invitation to visit this little sneak peak into our life. We’re super flawed and broken and there aren’t too many dull moments around here.  And I promise it’s not always as magical as some of my golden hour, sun-soaked images would suggest.  There’s usually too much coffee in my system and we welcome all the prayers.  Come on over if you want to process with me.
