May 13, 2010 By Erika Zane

13 May

>After spending some time thinking about my post and in the interest of keeping myself accountable, I woke up yesterday and decided I could do better. I realized how much wasted time I have scattered throughout my days; it's not like Dylan needs my attention 24/7.Don't get me wrong, I don't sit ... Read More about housewife part 2

>My mom was a stay at home mom and for as long as I can remember, I wanted to do that too. To me, being a stay at home mom means I have the following responsibilities: care for Dylan, clean the house, do everyone's laundry, put everyone's laundry away, cook dinner, and try to look somewhat decent ... Mother’s Day…

May 9, 2010 By Erika Zane

9 May

There is no day like Mother's Day to just relax, reflect on your own mother, and, if you're a mother, reflect on your journey to motherhood! So far today has been such a wonderful, relaxing day! I am sitting here right now, wearing Dylan (we just got back from a short walk) because he is sound ... Read More about Mother’s Day…

Following up on my walking goals and Dylan’s sleeping

May 7, 2010 By Erika Zane

7 May

>As for my walking goal: I think I got a little carried away! There just weren't enough hours in the day or energy in my body this week for a 4 mile walk every weekday (my plan for acheiving the 20 miles a week). I think I'm going to take your lead sassyshell: my new goal is to get AT LEAST 30 ... Read More about Following up on my walking goals and Dylan’s sleeping

Crying

May 6, 2010 By Erika Zane

6 May

So I finally broke... Dylan has been getting worse and worse about taking his naps and going to bed at night. He basically cannot leave our side without crying and I can tell he's getting increasingly overtired and to be honest, Andy and I need our alone time. So here I am listening to Dylan cry ... About me

Hello and welcome.  It’s been a while.  For Lent this year I decided to fast from the thing that took too much of my attention from what is truly important: Social Media.  Though there are countless amazing benefits to Social Media, after about a month offline so far, there are seemingly just as many negatives.  I never realized how much of my brain had been hijacked by it.  I’ve had so many revelations about how much easier it is to move forward when I’m not constantly reminded of the past.  But I still want to record my family as they grow at this ridiculous speed and, I’m realizing, so many of our family’s memories are here.  Those along with so many of the struggles and stages we’ve worked through.  Maybe in the midst of COVID19 isolation and my kids around me so often, I’m brought back to a time when they were too young for school and with me so often.  Writing here during that time helped make up for the limited adult conversation in my days and the overwhelm provided by my… little treasures 😉 My husband, fur babies, three fiesty kids, and I hereby extend an invitation to visit this little sneak peak into our life. We’re super flawed and broken and there aren’t too many dull moments around here.  And I promise it’s not always as magical as some of my golden hour, sun-soaked images would suggest.  There’s usually too much coffee in my system and we welcome all the prayers.  Come on over if you want to process with me.
