Today’s Mamma Monday is about a very good friend of mine, M. It’s hard to believe we’ve only known each other for about 6 months! M and I met at a baby care class at the midwifery we were both planning on having our babies at about a month before our due dates (I’ll tell my birth story later this week). So, needless to say, our babies are about the same age. We initially got together after that class because we live about two miles away from each other and she, like me, is also a breastfeeding and cloth diapering mamma. We have since become pretty close..
M is the kind of friend who really listens to you when you talk… REALLY LISTENS. She doesn’t just pretend to listen: She remembers everything you tell her and then keeps tabs on the outcomes (as in, when you tell her about what’s going on in your life, she ALWAYS follows up to see how everything worked out). She is also the kind of person who tries to bring her friends together by inviting them along when she’s invited somewhere, hosting mamma get-togethers at her house, and planning outings (whether it be a walk and lunch in the park in the spring or swimming at an indoor pool in the winter). She has her own business out of her home, yet still always finds the time to spend quality time with her family and her friends.
What makes her a special mamma? She recently wrote a post on her blog about how important it is to her that their life as a family be “Unhurried” and this is just the perfect example of what makes her so amazing. She puts so much careful thought and consideration into exemplifying the important things in life so that her daughter will never have any doubt. She is a nurturing, loving, caring, sensitive, and strong mamma who so obviously adores her baby girl and I feel blessed to have her in my life! Check back tomorrow or Wednesday for her guest post!
>She is a great friend to you, and I'm glad we got to meet!
