Back and better than ever!

After a brief hiatus, I have decided to continue blogging this year, but I plan to make some changes as well. I plan to make this blog more of a photo blog with an artsy personal feel that I will not put pressure on myself to update. If you have emailed me recently and I haven’t replied, I apologize… I haven’t even opened my blog email in almost a month. I will most likely not be hosting guest posts anymore. If I do, it won’t be for at least a few months.  We have an SLR camera I would like to get more familiar with so I can better capture Dylan as he develops and changes (and of course the next one as well… whenever that may be!).

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Years! We certainly did! It was so much fun to experience Dylan’s first Christmas and spend lots of time with family and friends!

We just got back from a week at an all inclusive resort in Jamaica yesterday. We had a wonderful time, but it’s nice to be back too! Dylan did very well with sharing a room with us at the hotel, but he had a much better night when we got back, in his own room… he slept until 10 AM on Sunday morning!!

As for Dylan’s first beach experience: he absolutely LOVED the beach and the ocean. He had lots of fun playing in the sand and splashing in the waves. I can’t wait to take him to the beach in the summer! My mom bought him this adorable UV protective outfit so we didn’t have to worry too much about lathering his body and head with SPF.

We also celebrated his first birthday while we were there… here are a few pictures of that experience 🙂

About me

Hello and welcome.  It’s been a while.  For Lent this year I decided to fast from the thing that took too much of my attention from what is truly important: Social Media.  Though there are countless amazing benefits to Social Media, after about a month offline so far, there are seemingly just as many negatives.  I never realized how much of my brain had been hijacked by it.  I’ve had so many revelations about how much easier it is to move forward when I’m not constantly reminded of the past.  But I still want to record my family as they grow at this ridiculous speed and, I’m realizing, so many of our family’s memories are here.  Those along with so many of the struggles and stages we’ve worked through.  Maybe in the midst of COVID19 isolation and my kids around me so often, I’m brought back to a time when they were too young for school and with me so often.  Writing here during that time helped make up for the limited adult conversation in my days and the overwhelm provided by my… little treasures 😉 My husband, fur babies, three fiesty kids, and I hereby extend an invitation to visit this little sneak peak into our life. We’re super flawed and broken and there aren’t too many dull moments around here.  And I promise it’s not always as magical as some of my golden hour, sun-soaked images would suggest.  There’s usually too much coffee in my system and we welcome all the prayers.  Come on over if you want to process with me.
