Radio Silence, Or Something Like That.

Hi.  How are you?

Ok, so it’s not like it has been an eternity since I last posted.  I have certainly gone longer without writing in my life.  It just feels like it has been forever since I have *really* written anything substantial.  I really want to write something of more meaning, but I do not really know where to start.

Lately I feel like I have a tumble weed of thoughts blowing through my brain, picking up more thoughts as it tumbles along.  It is getting bigger and bigger and, to be quite honest, it is made up of a heck of a lot of nonsense.  So, where do I begin?

Earlier today, I wrote morning pages (which I first heard about the other day when I read the post I linked to) using http://750words.com in an attempt to unravel most of that tumble weed.  It sort of worked.  I think today I probably needed more like 3000 words, but my hands were getting a little crampy and I am a *total* wimp lately.

*Really* I need a long walk, a jog, some yoga (my yoga practice has been on hold for a little while now), and/or ANY physical activity.  It is so hard for me to do anything when I cannot breath (I am still waiting for this cold, or whatever it is, to clear up – it has been two weeks now).  The unbearably hot weather has not helped either, but I need to figure something out. I am thinking about trying P90X because I have heard good things.  Does anyone have any recommendations?  Preferably something that can be done at home.

In any case, while I work out the mess that is my brain, here are some pictures I took this weekend and last week.  I think my DSLR camera (and Instagram on my Ipad) has become my newest hobby:

    Your family is too cute!

I wish I had good advice, but my workout routine has mainly been chasing the little guy around. Not really sufficient, but it is what it is.

I do have a dance DVD that I would like to try at some point. I like the idea of dance exercise, especially since Jonas likes to dance and might think we are playing (which means I may get through the workout).

    Hope you find something!

      Thanks Amber!

Up until now that has been my primary routine too, but I can usually get outside for a walk every now and then. If the rest of the summer is anything like it has been so far, I need to find something I can do at home. It will help a lot when our community pool is open during the week too.

I like the dance dvd idea! I didn’t even think about that, but Dylan would *love* that.

Ok, I’m pretty sure you’re joking, but I’d actually love that! 🙂

I am dead serious. Lots of fun…but I’m not using it (or them? I can’t remember if I have one or two). Email me your address if you want and I’ll stick it in the mail.

Cute! I feel you on the getting out thing, it’s been so crazy here lately. I’ve never done the P90X but I’ve heard great things about it!

If I were you with your three story walk-up, I’d probably get out half as often as you do. I’m pretty sure you get a work out every day you leave you apartment, even if it’s just to take out the trash! 🙂

I’m doing a Beachbody program right now called, ChaLean Extreme. It’s like P90X only shorter (which might work better with your little ones). It also targets muscles women typically need to tone, like inner thights, gluts etc. I really like it. I did P90X and I think I actually like this one better.

Thank you so much for the great information. That sounds awesome! Those are exactly the spots I need to work on. I am going to look into that one right now, actually.

About me

Hello and welcome.  It’s been a while.  For Lent this year I decided to fast from the thing that took too much of my attention from what is truly important: Social Media.  Though there are countless amazing benefits to Social Media, after about a month offline so far, there are seemingly just as many negatives.  I never realized how much of my brain had been hijacked by it.  I’ve had so many revelations about how much easier it is to move forward when I’m not constantly reminded of the past.  But I still want to record my family as they grow at this ridiculous speed and, I’m realizing, so many of our family’s memories are here.  Those along with so many of the struggles and stages we’ve worked through.  Maybe in the midst of COVID19 isolation and my kids around me so often, I’m brought back to a time when they were too young for school and with me so often.  Writing here during that time helped make up for the limited adult conversation in my days and the overwhelm provided by my… little treasures 😉 My husband, fur babies, three fiesty kids, and I hereby extend an invitation to visit this little sneak peak into our life. We’re super flawed and broken and there aren’t too many dull moments around here.  And I promise it’s not always as magical as some of my golden hour, sun-soaked images would suggest.  There’s usually too much coffee in my system and we welcome all the prayers.  Come on over if you want to process with me.
