A little over a month ago already (wow!  time has flown!) I attended the BlogHer ’11 conference in San Diego.  I had every intention of mapping out my whole experience in several posts.  I didn’t do that.  I did however write one post about my favorite parties, which happened to take place my first night there.  That very first party, the Haute Green Social Hour, allowed me to meet a few like minded bloggers AND sent me home with several cloth diapers and cloth diapering products.

Since I returned home I have had time to test out all of the diapers and, though I loved them all, one of them definitely stuck out to me.  The bitti tutto by itti bitti is a soft and amazingly slim one size diaper.  The outside feels like a stuffed animal and Little Man loves to pet it and say “ooo” when I take it out to put it on him.  Now, I realize I’m diapering a toddler and this diaper may be bulkier on an infant, but the material, though durable and very soft, is very thin and light weight, which leads me to believe that is not the case.   They are designed to fit a baby from approximately 8 to 44 pounds.

The diaper’s inserts (made of very absorbent bamboo) snap in and there are three different soaker pads included to fit different wetting needs.  Not only that, but what sticks out to me is, since the inserts snap in, you can always buy more inserts and reuse the outer shell, which lowers the cost associated with using these.

After testing out this diaper, I did some research to find out why I hadn’t heard about these before.  I found out that itti bitti is an Australian company that has only been selling in the US since March of this year even though they’ve been in business since 2005 and are located in 25 countries total already.  I’m so excited they made it to the US!

With this next baby I already planned to purchase just a few more one sized diapers to add to our collection and I now know they will be bitti tuttos.
