Tracking Baby #2’s First Year: 6 Months Old (On a Wed and nearly Wordless!)

September 26, 2012 By Erika Zane

SERIOUSLY?  6 MONTHS?!

I’m not kidding.  I’m kind of in denial here.  It’s a little hard to get my head around.

So here’s the deal: I don’t have any new stats because… ummm… well, I’m an airhead.  I completely spaced out Little Hiccup’s six month check-up the day of his appointment last week.  I didn’t realize it until about an hour after the appointment time came and went.  Woops!

Can you say S-P-A-C-E C-A-D-E-T?!  I really don’t know what’s wrong with me lately.

BUT, I did manage to fit in a photo shoot over the weekend.  Ha!  Like I’d space that out! 😉

Let me just say, I’m in complete shock that I have a six month old who’s showing some major interest in food and just about everything.  He can kind of sit.  And by sit, I mean he folds himself in half and sometimes doesn’t fall over.  Also, he recently started groping and I have the scratches all over my face to show it.  Or maybe that’s more evidence of a mama who’s terrified of the nail clippers because she’s clipped more than nails in the past.

Funny how groping is cute when it’s done by a baby.

Presenting my six month old little ball of curiosity and happiness:

Babies grow and learn at an amazing rate, astonishing their parents and everyone around them. All parents, especially new ones, want to know that their child is developing at an appropriate rate.

Your baby’s so cute. The title nearly wordless explains it all. I bet you’re a proud mom. Keep on sharing your baby’s progress here. It inspires us all. Can your baby utter the word “mom” already?

About me

Hello and welcome.  It’s been a while.  For Lent this year I decided to fast from the thing that took too much of my attention from what is truly important: Social Media.  Though there are countless amazing benefits to Social Media, after about a month offline so far, there are seemingly just as many negatives.  I never realized how much of my brain had been hijacked by it.  I’ve had so many revelations about how much easier it is to move forward when I’m not constantly reminded of the past.  But I still want to record my family as they grow at this ridiculous speed and, I’m realizing, so many of our family’s memories are here.  Those along with so many of the struggles and stages we’ve worked through.  Maybe in the midst of COVID19 isolation and my kids around me so often, I’m brought back to a time when they were too young for school and with me so often.  Writing here during that time helped make up for the limited adult conversation in my days and the overwhelm provided by my… little treasures 😉 My husband, fur babies, three fiesty kids, and I hereby extend an invitation to visit this little sneak peak into our life. We’re super flawed and broken and there aren’t too many dull moments around here.  And I promise it’s not always as magical as some of my golden hour, sun-soaked images would suggest.  There’s usually too much coffee in my system and we welcome all the prayers.  Come on over if you want to process with me.
