What do I say about week 5?
It’s hard because the year started on a Wednesday, so I’m counting my weeks Wed-Tues. It’s difficult to keep straight what happened the second half of last week and the first half of this week.
Does that make any sense? It’s like I’m a computer and I hit reset every weekend.
Let’s see… we spent a lot of time indoors again last week, but I did make it outside with the boys and dogs on our snowday last Friday. We only lasted about five minutes, but better than nothing, right? I’m only including one picture from that day here, but I’ll post the rest in another post soon. Even 5 minutes of outdoor activity was worth it!
The last two days of week 5 were spent inside because it was FRIGID. No, really. Like <10*F.
FYI, It didn’t improve either. We had a high of like 2*F today. Woo hoo! Toasty warm!
Good news is, we have a nice weekend ahead of us and next week should be perfect. Just in time for my sister and her fiancé to visit! YAY!
Ok, enough babbling and on the the photos. I clearly did not spend enough time writing this week!
Day 29: Poor guy was really upset. It was probably over a cookie. That’s his favorite word. He says “cookie” first thing every morning, after every meal and before bed. He’s obsessed and this is the inevitable result when he cannot have a cookie. Makes me sad just looking at this picture. Sadly, this face is a common occurance the past few weeks.
Day 30: Ok, so the other thing Wyatt likes to do these days is just about anything to cause a reaction. This shot was after dinner when he decided to throw his plate and Andy caught it and decided to make it a game. They were both giggling. I think having the puppy around has been a little hard for Wy. He’s used to being the cute one and I think he’s struggling with sharing the attention.
Day 31: I was hoping for a picture of the kids playing together. I asked Dylan to play with Wyatt and he said, “no, I’m going to throw a snowball at you.” Obviously, I didn’t think that was a great idea until I could put my camera away. So, naturally, I redirected his attention towards Wyatt and grabbed a few pictures instead. Mommy of the year, right here! Happily, Wy was pretty excited about it.
Day 32: Saturday, Wyatt woke up from his nap early and inconsolable. He’s getting a molar (another reason for the frequent crying). I can feel it right below the surface about to poke through, or maybe it already started… I can’t really tell. Our house cleaning ladies were here that day and Andy and I were hanging out in the basement while the kids napped. When Wy woke up, Andy brought him down and I cuddled him back to sleep. It was one of the best moments in a long time for me. He never sleeps on us anymore! I requested my camera and set it up and Andy took the picture.
Day 33: We don’t really need to talk about this day! Lol. We were excited and we still love our Broncos! 🙂
Day 34: Cutest Monday morning ever. Riggins laid down in his bed as the kids were sitting on the couch watching cartoons. When this blanket started slipping off the couch and onto his head, he didn’t move. He slept like this for at least an hour. I just thought it was adorable.
Day 35: Dylan loves to paint. It’s been his favorite activity for a while now. Wyatt always wants to participate, so this time I finally let him. It didn’t really work out for him. He kept walking around trying to paint the wall or me or the dogs. It was interesting. I’m pretty sure this ended in tears, too.
What a treasure that post nap snuggling picture is, great catch.
Thank you! I love that one, too. I’m so happy my hubby was willing to help me out 🙂
Great week in photos despite the tears. It often looks like that at our house too.
Thanks, Stephanie 🙂 It’s always nice to know we’re not alone. I’m sure so much of that has to do with the age. I forgot what an emotional age 2 was for D. W’s not quite there yet, but he’s getting closer.
Puppy cuteness!!!
Tears are frequent in our house too over cookies. Haha. Cute post!

Love day 32!! Beautiful! The are looking so big. Look forward to seeing them sometime this year. Please stay in town the week of Memorial day!!!
Haha I love the Broncos family photo and the sleeping one before it! BTW I love your bio section on your sidebar and your photo too!
I think I responded to comments within the comment section on the back end on this post and I completely missed yours. Thank you so much Amy! I did see your comment when you made it and it stuck with me (the part about the bio) and meant a lot. I don’t know how I missed it when I went to respond!
Riggins with the blanket on his head=cuteness!! Painting together is so cute and even if it didn't work you have this moment to remember forever!
I love the snow picture, and i’m having the same issue with keeping the wends-tues straight!
The snow picture is beautiful! We're supposed to get more snow here this week, which is great for picture taking, but kind of a bummer for school… The painting picture is sweet too!
LOVE the snow pic.
Awesome!!!
Thank you! I know, I miss you all so much, too! I'll do my best 🙂
Thank you! That's what I like about Colorado, snow doesn't impact too much. It's here one day, it's usually pretty powdery and easy to drive in, and it's gone within a day or two. It is beautiful for pictures. I'm a little mad at myself for not taking more snow pictures this year! We've certainly had enough. I think the whole country's had it's fair share, huh?
Very good point! Thanks Angie!
Deep down, I know meltdowns are par for the course with young kids, but I never get tired of hearing I'm not alone 🙂
Love your photos, especially the snowball fight and snuggling with Dad. Just a friendly reminder to please link back to one of your hosts 🙂
Thank you Sarah! I’m so sorry, I have the badge in the sidebar and didn’t even think to link back in the post. I’ve added it to all my posts going forward!
